Indianapolis, like many communities, has been undercounted in the past, and participation in the 2010 Census is especially important for the city to increase the availability of state, federal and private funding for the community over the next 10 years. Along with funding, decennial Census data is also used to plan health and educational services, enhance underdeveloped areas, improve public transportation and determine government representation.
