Mayor to host next “City Hall for a Day” in the Butler Tarkington neighborhood

Indianapolis – Mayor Bart Peterson and members of his administration will host the nineteenth “City Hall for a Day” tomorrow in the Butler Tarkington neighborhood.

                         When: TOMORROW, Tuesday, September 25

“I have met with neighborhood leaders in the past and it was sometimes difficult to understand their concerns and achievements without witnessing them first hand,” Mayor Peterson stated.  City Hall for a Day allows me to be submersed in the neighborhoods and makes issues like problem intersections, new development, unique neighborhoods, and all the things that make our neighborhoods what they are tangible.”

Mayor Peterson will have coffee with neighborhood merchants, have lunch with neighborhood leaders, participate in a FitCity Challenge with students at IPS School 43, and take a bus tour of the area.

“City Hall for a Day” brings many of the staff and resources of city government to a particular area of the city for one day, allowing the Mayor and city staffers to meet with local neighborhood leaders, visit local businesses, see community projects and activities, and take part in many other activities and events.
