'Taxpayer advocates' available Tuesday evening to help homeowners with questions
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis-Marion County Office of Taxpayer Advocate, consisting of a team of volunteer attorneys and other staffers, will be available by phone to help local homeowners understand their property taxes, how to pay their taxes, the appeal process and other issues. Mayor Bart Peterson created the office by executive order to provide free legal advice or guidance to homeowners hit by property tax increases.
