Mayor, IPIC to announce grant, partnership to aid ex-offenders
INDIANAPOLIS – Please join Mayor Bart Peterson, the Indianapolis Private Industry Council (IPIC) and others as they announce the receipt of a $1 million grant for the purpose of providing services to aid ex-offenders.

This program is an outgrowth of Mayor Peterson’s Community Crime Prevention Task Force that was formed in 2006 as a result of an alarming rise in violent crime. The Community Crime Prevention Task Force Report found that nearly 5,000 previously incarcerated individuals locate within Marion County each year and often lack the support needed to productively reintegrate back into society.
