Mayor to meet with task force to discuss plans for 2007 IBE Summer Celebration
Indianapolis – Mayor Bart Peterson will meet with his Special Events Task Force to review downtown parking availability, IndyGo services, street closures and restrictions, police-guest relations and hospitality plans for Indiana Black Expo’s Summer Celebration, one of the city’s largest annual events. Summer Celebration is scheduled for July 12-22.

The Mayor created the Special Events Task Force in 2001 to coordinate city planning among the Mayor’s Office, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) and event organizers to ensure that all major downtown events are safe and enjoyable and create a positive experience for visitors and residents of Indianapolis.
The Special Events Task Force includes representatives from the Mayor’s Office, IMPD, downtown businesses, hotels and restaurants, Indiana Black Expo and others.
