Mayor to host next “City Hall for a Day” in Nora
Indianapolis – Mayor Bart Peterson and members of his administration will host the seventeenth “City Hall for a Day” tomorrow in the Nora area of Washington Township.
When: TOMORROW, Thursday, May 31
“I have met with neighborhood leaders in the past and it was sometimes difficult to understand their concerns and achievements without witnessing them first hand,” Mayor Peterson stated. “City Hall for a Day’ allows me to be submersed in the neighborhoods and makes issues like problem intersections, new development, unique neighborhoods, and all the things that make our neighborhoods what they are tangible to me.”
Mayor Peterson will visit a group of Boy Scouts who are volunteering to do storm drain marking, have lunch with a group of firefighters, read books to babies and their caregivers at the Nora Library, visit the Wild Child Indy children’s clothing store, take a bus tour of the area and meet with a group of neighborhood leaders.
“City Hall for a Day” brings many of the staff and resources of city government to a particular area of the city for one day, allowing the Mayor and city staffers to meet with local neighborhood leaders, visit local businesses, see community projects and activities, and take part in many other activities and events.
