Mayor to present Excellence in Education Award to Learning Well, Inc.
Indianapolis – Mayor Bart Peterson will present the Excellence in Education Award to Learning Well, Inc. for providing health services, at no cost, for students in 74 Indianapolis schools.

Learning Well, Inc. has formed effective partnerships with the Marion County Health Department, The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis, as well as several hospitals, corporations and charitable foundations. The partnership offers an array of services, including nursing assessment, health screenings, medication administration, first aid/emergency care, nutrition services, dental screenings, management of acute and chronic illness and injury, referral services, mental health services, and sports physicals to students.
Last year, Learning Well, Inc. served more than 20,000 students in 75,000 visits to school-based clinics, making it the largest organization of its kind in the United States with the largest number of diverse partnerships.
Since Mayor Peterson took office he has given monthly awards to a different school, person, or organization for outstanding achievements in education.
