Mayor to launch city’s comprehensive agenda to green Indianapolis, make neighborhoods more sustainable
Indianapolis—Mayor Bart Peterson will announce the launch of the Indy GreenPrint, a comprehensive vision to make Indianapolis more sustainable and position the city to be a leader in promoting climate protection, energy efficiency and energy conservation.
WHEN: Today – Tuesday, May 15 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: Indianapolis Museum of Art 4000 N. Michigan Rd.
The event will take place on top of a “green” roof, which covers an underground parking garage at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Green roof projects, which involve growing plants, flowers and other vegetation on top of roofs, can reduce storm-water runoff and maintenance costs over time.
Mayor Peterson made a commitment to make Indianapolis greener and more sustainable in his 2007 State of the City Address in February.
