New Mayor’s Neighborhood Liaison appointed
INDIANAPOLIS – The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services today announced the appointment of Rylan Hall as the newest Mayor’s Neighborhood Liaison. The appointment is effective immediately.
Mayor’s Neighborhood Liaisons serve as links between city government services and neighborhoods, community groups and businesses.
Hall will be responsible for serving Wayne Township and near-west side neighborhoods including Chapel Hill, Haughville, Eagledale, and Garden City.
“The Mayor is excited to have Rylan join the city’s team of neighborhood liaisons,” Deputy Mayor Steve Campbell said. “His proven leadership skills and experience in working closely with the community will be a great asset in serving the people of Indianapolis and Wayne Township.”
Hall has worked in city government for the past three years, most recently serving as the Unsafe Building Program Manager in the Department of Metropolitan Development. In that capacity, Hall helped lead the city’s coordinated code enforcement efforts, organizing sweeps aimed at cracking down on some of the city’s most negligent property owners. Hall was also part of a team that successfully lobbied for tax sale reform at the State Legislature, enabling municipalities to have a greater impact working with neighborhoods to repair and revitalize abandoned and vacant homes.
From 2004 – 2005, Hall worked in Mayor Peterson’s Office as Deputy Director of Constituent Services, helping coordinate communications between the Mayor’s Office and residents.
In 2003 and 2004, Hall spent time at the State Legislature interning with Bose Treacy Associates and the Indiana State Senate.
Hall earned a bachelor's degree in Public Management from Indiana University and is working toward a master’s degree from Indiana University in philanthropy and economics.
