Peterson, NLC leadership to join leading crime expert in highlighting impacts of national crime surge
Washington, D.C. – Mayor Bart Peterson in his role as President of the National League of Cities (NLC) will join local leaders from across the country and a national crime expert to highlight the NLC’s push to fight the national surge in crime, as well as other federal priorities impacting U.S. cities and towns.

Where: State Room, Washington Hilton Hotel
Chuck Wexler, Executive Director of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), will be on hand to discuss a report issued last week by PERF, which showed that violent crime rose by double digit percentages in cities across the country.
The Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) is a national membership organization of progressive police executives from the largest city, county and state law enforcement agencies. PERF is dedicated to improving policing and advancing professionalism through research and involvement in public policy debate.
