Indianapolis hosts Super Bowl Celebration
Indianapolis – In honor of the Indianapolis Colts’ Super Bowl Championship, the City of Indianapolis, the 500 Festival, Indianapolis Colts, Indianapolis Downtown, Inc. and Indianapolis Convention Center & RCA Dome will host a Super Bowl Celebration.
When: TODAY, Monday, February 5 (The Celebratory Parade will begin at approximately 4:15 - 4:30 p.m.)
Route starts on West Street at Maryland Street. East (right) on Maryland Street. North (left) on Illinois Street. East (right) on New York St. South (right) on Meridian Street. Around west side of Monument Circle. South (right) on Meridian Street. West (right) on Georgia Street. Finish at the RCA Dome.
- The Rally in the RCA Dome will begin following the parade, at approximately 5:30 p.m. RCA Dome Gates 1 – 4 open at 3 p.m.
Getting around Downtown:
Downtown business and residents are advised that there will be a rolling blockade temporarily closing streets and intersections for a long enough time period for the parade to pass through. The streets will then immediately open back up. Expect some possible street closures, traffic restrictions, heavy traffic and congestion. Plan your trip accordingly.
Dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes, park once and be prepared to walk.
Allow extra travel time to and within Downtown.
Plan your driving and walking route into and through Downtown ahead of time.
Carpool or use IndyGo if possible.
Parking:
- Log onto www.indydt.com for Downtown maps with parking information. Print the map and bring it with you.
- Select a couple of parking alternatives before you leave home.
- Plan to use a garage or lot. Meters near the RCA Dome may be restricted.
- Some parking facilities and lots may not be open to the public or may be restricted due to employee parking.
