Mayor’s Commission on Latino Affairs and Univision Indiana to host television special
INDIANAPOLIS – The Mayor’s Commission on Latino Affairs and Univision Indiana have collaborated to telecast “Conversation with the Community: Public Safety in Indianapolis”. The television special will air tomorrow.
WHEN: Saturday, February 10; 6 p.m. (Airing on Univision Indiana Television, WIIH-TV.)
The thirty-minute television special will air a portion of Mayor Peterson’s Crime Package speech and feature a discussion panel. The panel will discuss local/national crime issues, the Mayor’s Crime Prevention Task Force recommendations, the police merger, fixing the criminal justice system, crime prevention, community policing and other topics, such as Hometown Matters.
The panel moderator will be Marco Dominguez, Univision News Anchor. The participants will be Pastor Felipe Martinez, member of the Mayor’s Crime Prevention Task Force; Officer Carlos Trincado, Latino Liaison for IMPD; Ana Hail, community activist; and Ricardo Gambetta, Director of Latino Affairs for the Mayor’s Office.
The Mayor’s Commission on Latino Affairs is the city’s first-ever panel that concentrates on service and outreach to the Latino Community. Since taking office, Peterson has made reaching out to the to the Latino community a priority.
