Mayor to participate in “Light the Night for Life”
Indianapolis – Mayor Bart Peterson will participate tonight in the “Light the Night for Life” event, organized by Indiana Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) and the Church Federation. The event will honor the memory of last year’s homicide victims.
When: TODAY, Thursday, January 4
6 p.m.
Where: Crown Hill Cemetery (Peace Chapel)
700 W. 38th St.
Luminaries representing each victim will line the area around the chapel as a spotlight lights the sky. Inside the chapel, a unity ceremony will take place and the names of each victim will be read. Candles representing courage, hope, faith and love will be lit followed by the lighting of the unity candle.
