Mayor Peterson to speak about “Hometown Matters” at IACT Town Hall event tonight
Indianapolis – Mayor Peterson will speak tonight about “Hometown Matters” at the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns ‘Hometown Gathering’ event.
“Hometown Matters” is a key legislative component of the Crime Fighting Package launched last by Mayor Peterson.

Mayor Peterson, along with mayors from across Indiana, will discuss the challenges of funding vital public services and how “Hometown Matters” would give cities and towns the resources needed to help communities prosper in the future.
Hometown Matters” is a bi-partisan plan to reduce reliance on property taxes, establish options for funding local government, and help local officials provide the most efficient, effective government possible.
On Thursday, a statewide coalition of more than 50 mayors will spend the day at the State House meeting with lawmakers to discuss how “Hometown Matters” will benefit their local communities. The meetings coincide with the Indiana Conference of Mayors annual gathering in Indianapolis during the legislative session.
The Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT) is a coalition of municipal officials who seek to improve the quality of life in Indiana and has 475 city and town members. IACT advocates for municipalities as the official voice of municipal government in Indiana. IACT also promotes good government through education, training and leadership.
