Mayor to greet Habitat for Humanity volunteers TODAY in home building project downtown
Event marks Habitat’s 300th home built in Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS – Mayor Bart Peterson will greet volunteers of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis (HHGI) today on the site of their 300th local home building project.
The project is part of HHGI’s “House of Abraham,” which brings together people of Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths to celebrate their common heritage and work together to build a home for a family in need.
When: TODAY, July 6 11:30 a.m.
Where: Pan Am Plaza (Southeast quadrant near Louisiana Street)
The Mayor will join volunteers on the build at approximately 11:05 a.m.
Founded in 1987, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis joins with low-income families and other community partners to provide homeownership opportunities and build strong communities.
