Mayor to host fourth “City Hall for a Day” in Traders Point neighborhood
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson and members of his administration will host the fourth "City Hall for a Day" next week in the Traders Point neighborhood of Pike Township.
The first three City Halls for a Day were in held Broad Ripple Village, the Near Eastside Community Organization (NESCO) area, and Garfield Park.
The Mayor’s "City Hall for a Day" brings many of the staff and resources of city government to a particular area of the city for one day, allowing the Mayor and city staffers to meet with local neighborhood leaders, visit local businesses, see community projects, and take part in many other activities and events.

8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Traders Point "City Hall for a Day" schedule:
8:30 - 2:30 Public Works Community Service (Adult Probationers) will conduct a clean-up along 79th and 71st streets from I-465 to Lafayette Rd and along Lafayette Rd. from I-65 north to 86th St.
9:00 DPW to begin sign sweep on primary roads - Lafayette Rd., 86th St., 79th St., & 71st St.
10:00-10:25 Mayor Peterson will kick off the City Hall for a Day program at Fishback Creek Elementary School, 8301 West 86th Street.
10:35-11:15 Mayor Peterson will tour Fishback Creek Elementary and attend an informal question and answer session about city government with students, teachers, and members of the parent teacher organization.
12:00 - 1:15 Mayor Peterson and Department of Administration Director Earl Morgan will have lunch with business leaders at Abuelo’s Mexican Embassy restaurant, 5910 W. 86th Street.
10:00-3:00 Mobile Mayor’s Action Center - Citizens can come anytime from 10 am to 3 p.m. to report a problem or request a city service and meet face to face with customer service representatives. Laptops will be on hand so requests can be submitted instantly. (Pike Station # 112, 7002 Lafayette Road.)
1:30 - 2:30 Mayor Peterson will meet with neighborhood leaders at the clubhouse @ Hidden Creek Condominiums at 86th Street and east of Lafayette Road (north side of 86th Street across the street from and east of Fishback School.)
1:30 - 3:00 DPW & City staff will walk through the Hawthorne at the Crossing & Hawthorne Meadows neighborhood to place stickers on existing storm drains to remind people not to dump things in them
1:30 - 3:00 DPW & City staff will distribute door hangers regarding the Correct Connect program in the West 86th St. neighborhood.
2:40 - 3:00 Mayor will join DPW & City staff to distribute door hangers regarding the Correct Connect program in a neighborhood located on 86th Street just west of highway 465.
3:00 - 6:00 Special Tox Drop open at 7400 N. Lafayette Rd. open for general Household Hazardous Waste.
3:00 - 6:00 Indianapolis Animal Care & Control will provide micro-chipping for pets & have animals available for adoption at Fishback Creek Elementary.
4:00 -6:00 Indy Parks will locate their environmental trailer at Fishback Creek during after school programming hours.
