Public Safety Director to take customer service calls in the Mayor’s Action Center tomorrow
Robert Turner to take calls in order to better understand the system, suggest improvements
INDIANAPOLIS - Public Safety Director Robert Turner will be on the front line of city government tomorrow as he takes calls in the Mayor’s Action Center (MAC) as a part of the city’s "Customer Service Representative of the Week" effort.
Once a week for the remainder of 2006, leaders in city government will take calls for an hour in the MAC, allowing them to become more familiar with the reasons Indianapolis residents call the MAC and more knowledgeable about their needs and concerns.
WHEN: TOMORROW - Thursday, March 23
9-10 a.m.
WHERE: Mayor’s Action Center, 21st floor, City-County Building
The MAC is the one-stop call center for questions, concerns and service requests from city government. Common reasons for calls include potholes, stray animals, and trash pickup.
New technologies and business practices have cut the wait time for calls to the MAC down to 90 seconds on average. The MAC received 247,418 calls last year. Further improvements, including better tracking and electronic access, are in development.
To contact the MAC to report a problem or request a city service, residents should call [317] 327-4622 or go online to www.indygov.org.
