Mayor, Community Hospital East to mark construction of new, state-of-the art cancer center
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will join representatives of Community Hospital East to mark the construction of a new, state-of-the-art cancer center, which will bring new investment and jobs to the city’s east side and provide hope to people living with cancer.
The Mayor and Community East employees, officials and medical staff will commemorate the occasion by sealing a time capsule that contains well wishes and messages of inspiration for loved ones who have battled cancer.

WHERE: Community Hospital East, 1500 N. Ritter
The new 12,000-square foot facility will open in early 2007. The center will feature innovative radiation technology that allows doctors to locate and target tumors more quickly and precisely, delivering radiation to cancerous cells, while sparing healthy tissue.
Community Hospital East is part of Community Health Network. The hospital is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
