Headquartered in Vancouver British Columbia, Haakon Industries is one of North America’s largest manufacturers of custom designed air conditioning units.
Along with employing local workers, Haakon plans to purchase equipment, parts and supplies from area vendors, further bolstering their economic impact in Lawrence and Indianapolis.
Haakon is no stranger to Indiana. The company has designed and manufactured many products for several Indiana businesses, universities and organizations, including all of the major state universities, local hospitals, Indianapolis Public Schools, and Eli Lilly and Company.
"We selected Indianapolis to expand our business because of its very strong labor force and the availability of manufacturing expertise in the area," said Mike Geist, Haakon Global Manufacturing Manager.
