Mayor’s 2006 State of the City Address
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will hold his seventh State of the City Address next week.

Thanks to a generous grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc., the nearly-century old Garfield Parks Shelter House has undergone a $2.5 million transformation to become Indy Parks and Recreation’s first community arts center. The new Garfield Park Arts Center features performing arts space, a visual arts gallery, a production arts area with photography and recording studios, a literary arts room and several multipurpose practice classrooms. Beginning in summer 2006, Indy Parks will partner with local artists to offer arts education programming for Indianapolis residents of all ages and abilities, creating opportunities to learn, experience and enjoy all mediums of art.
