Mayor to present Character Counts award to Park Tudor Varsity Club

INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will present the February Character Counts award to the Park Tudor Varsity Club for providing food baskets to needy citizens during the holiday season.

WHEN: Tomorrow, Thursday, February 2

9:30 - 10 a.m.

WHERE: Park Tudor School

7200 N. College Ave.

For more than 20 years, the Park Tudor Varsity Club has provided more than 20 food baskets for needy Indianapolis citizens each year. The baskets provide the recipients with a complete Thanksgiving feast and enough food items to last beyond the holiday. Mr. Mike Hasch, faculty organizer, works with the Varsity Club and their families to collect and deliver the baskets.

Mayor Peterson created the Character Counts Award during his first month in office to recognize acts of good character. Mayor Peterson gives the award to recognize students, student organizations, and schools whose conduct reflects exemplary character.
