Community Crime Prevention Task Force and Mayor’s Youth Council to host a Youth Town Hall Meeting
INDIANAPOLIS – The Community Crime Prevention Task Force, organized by the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, along with the Mayor’s Youth Council today will host a Youth Town Hall Meeting.
WHEN: TODAY– Wednesday, November 8 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: Arlington High School 4825 N. Arlington Ave.
The Community Crime Prevention Task Force has invited all 9-12th grade students in the City of Indianapolis to participate in a meeting focused on gathering information and listening to ideas from them to reduce crime in Indianapolis. The Task Force is examining the underlying causes that have led to the surge of violence and is eager to hear about specific programs and ideas from youth. The youth will have an opportunity to discuss their ideas and resolutions to very important issues affecting our City.
All of these crime-fighting measures stem from an emergency meeting of criminal justice officials convened in August by Mayor Peterson. At that meeting, Council President Monroe Gray recommended the creation of the Community Crime Prevention Task Force to look into the root causes of crime and violence.
