Mayor to host next “City Hall for a Day” In Ben Davis neighborhoods tomorrow
Indianapolis – Mayor Bart Peterson and members of his administration will host the eleventh “City Hall for a Day” tomorrow in Ben Davis neighborhoods on the westside.
When: TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 17
"City Hall for a Day" brings many of the staff and resources of city government to a particular area of the city for one day, allowing the Mayor and city staffers to meet with local neighborhood leaders, visit local businesses, see community projects and activities, and take part in many other activities and events.
City employees will be out in force providing information to residents and businesses regarding how they can reach a variety of city government entities and how city government can help them with everything from high grass to zoning changes. They will also be listening to their ideas and concerns regarding the Ben Davis area and the City of Indianapolis.
Ben Davis "City Hall for a Day" schedule:
10:30 – 11a.m. Mayor Peterson will visit Garden City Elementary School 6th grade classes. Where: 4901 Rockville Road
10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. City government employees will be going out door to door in the Chapel Hill area to distribute information regarding city government services, contact information, and financial literacy programs.
11:10 – 11:40 a.m. Mayor Peterson will visit Asset Recycling. Where: 701 N. Holt Road
11:50 a.m.–12:05 p.m. Mayor Peterson will visit the Westside Community News newspaper. Where: 608 S. Vine Street.
12:15 – 1:30 p.m. Mayor Peterson will have lunch with neighborhood leaders & area residents. Where: Ben Davis High School Career Center, 1200 N. Girls School Road
1:40 – 2:30 p.m. Mayor Peterson will take a bus tour of the Ben Davis area with local neighborhood and business leaders.
Other city employees from all departments will be spread throughout the Ben Davis area for visits throughout the day. An updated schedule of City Hall for a Day events can also be found at www.indygov.org/mayor.
