Mayor to hold ceremony to sign human rights ordinance
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will join City-County Councillors Jackie Nytes and Scott Keller and community leaders to ceremonially sign the human rights ordinance.

In December, the City-County Council passed the human rights ordinance in a bi-partisan vote. The ordinance bans discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in the workplace. The ordinance also defines housing discrimination with more detail and provides fair housing opportunities for people with disabilities, families with children and the gay, lesbian and transgender community.
