Mayor to host city MLK observance today
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will join with City-County Council members, city-county employees and Indianapolis residents to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at a city observance today.
This morning, Mayor Peterson met with employees of the Solid Waste Division of the Indianapolis Department of Public Works to thank them for their work. Dr. King spoke to striking sanitation workers in Memphis, TN on the day before his assassination.
WHEN: TODAY - Monday, January 9; 1:30-2:30 p.m.
WHERE: Beurt R. SerVaas Public Assembly Room, 230 City-County Building
The national observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday will be on January 16.
