Mayor to meet with Special Events Task Force to discuss plans for Circle City Classic
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will meet with his Special Events Task Force to review downtown traffic, parking and hospitality plans for the Circle City Classic. Circle City Classic is scheduled for Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1.
WHEN: TODAY, Wednesday, September 21
3:30-4:30 p.m.
The Mayor will attend from approximately 3:30 - 4 p.m.
WHERE: Mayor’s Conference Room
2522 City-County Building
Those attending Circle City Classic events are encouraged to use IndyGo’s Blue Line. This free shuttle service has stops all around the downtown area, and visitors can park near those stops and be transported to the RCA Dome.
Again this year, the Mayor’s Office will staff a hospitality booth, where visitors can get information about the City and Indianapolis-area events and amenities. On Friday, September 30, the booth will be open from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and will be located in the Convention Center near the Maryland Street entrance. On Saturday, October 1, the booth will be open from 2 to 8:30 p.m. and will be located outside of Gate 1 at the RCA Dome. Visitors can also call the IPD customer service line at 327-5134. Representatives will be available from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.
The Mayor created the Special Events Task Force four years ago to work with the Mayor’s office, the Indianapolis Police Department (IPD) and event organizers to help ensure that all major downtown events are safe and visitors have a positive experience in Indianapolis.
The task force includes representatives of the Mayor’s office, IPD, downtown businesses, hotels and restaurants, Indiana Black Expo and others.
