DPW to host ribbon cutting ceremony
INDIANAPOLIS -Mayor Bart Peterson, Department of Public Works Director Jim Garrard and other project partners will celebrate the substantial completion of a $28 million wastewater project that includes the installation of wet-weather storage basins and other improvements at the Belmont and Southport Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plants (AWT).
WHEN: Monday, August 22, 2005 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Belmont AWT 2700 S. Belmont
(Event site will be located approximately ¼ mile west of Harding St. on Hudnut Blvd., also known as S. Belmont St. Follow event signs.)
The Belmont AWT basins and Southport AWT improvements will reduce the frequency and volume of raw sewage overflows into the White River and Little Buck Creek by temporarily storing the flows during wet weather until the plants have the capacity to treat the flows.
