Mayor, housing officials to launch statewide service aimed at helping those in housing crisis

INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will join state and local leaders in launching a new statewide service, Indianahousingnow, that will aid those in housing crisis find quality, affordable housing.

WHEN: Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8
          10 a.m.

WHERE: Community Alliance of the Far Eastside neighborhood center
            8902 E. 38th Street

More than 15,000 people experience homelessness in Indianapolis each year. Another 45,000 people - men, women and children - are living in housing crisis and on the verge of being homeless.

Indianahousingnow is the newest tool for community leaders and social service providers to help individuals or families on the brink of homelessness locate decent, safe housing they can afford.
