Mayor to accept parkland donation today
Local philanthropists to donate land to IndyParks; new park land will connect Holliday and Marott Parks
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will join Indy Parks in a ceremony to accept a major land donation to the city's parks department. A gift to the Indianapolis Parks Foundation from local philanthropists - who prefer to remain anonymous prior to the ceremony - was designated for the purchase and donation of the four-acre parcel to Indy Parks with the stipulation that it be used as an outdoor environmental education destination for Indianapolis youth.
The land runs parallel to the White River and will allow residents to easily link between Holliday Park, 6349 Spring Mill Road, and Marott Park, 7350 N. College, as well as provide access to the Monon Trail.

WHEN: Monday, June 20 1:30 p.m.
WHERE: Corner of North Meridian Street and Arden Drive
Ceremony will take place along the White River at the accessible fishing platform.
Directions: Take North Meridian Street to Arden Drive (just south of 65th Street.) Turn right on Arden Dr. Media may park along Arden Drive. Take walking path downhill from parking lot to river.
