Wednesday: Three days left to save $35 million a year

Local realtors to hold banner at Statehouse today

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana General Assembly now has only three days left to pass Indianapolis Works, the government reform package that saves taxpayers $35 million a year.

Two weeks ago, Mayor Bart Peterson held a rally on the Statehouse steps to urge state legislators to use the final days of the legislative session to help Indianapolis and Marion County save taxpayers $35 million a year, or about $100,000 every day.

Since then, volunteers have been holding a banner at the Statehouse urging the legislators to act and reminding the public about the consequences of inaction.

Today, local realtors and members of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors, will be holding the banner and passing out material at the Statehouse from 12-1 p.m.
