INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will join volunteers on Monument Circle and at the Indiana Statehouse to continue urging the Indiana General Assembly to pass Indianapolis Works, the plan to reform local government and save local taxpayers $35 million every year, or about $100,000 every day.

The Mayor, City Councillors Rozelle Boyd and Jackie Nytes, and volunteers from Emmis Communications, One America, WellPoint and the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce will be passing out "$100 Grand" candy bars at the Statehouse today to legislators and other visitors to the Statehouse.

WHEN: TODAY - Wednesday, April 20

11:30 a.m. Kick-off press conference. Where: Monument Circle, north steps.
Rain location: Indiana Statehouse, South Atrium.

12-1 p.m. Volunteers passing out $100 Grand bars. Where: Indiana Statehouse, north, south, east & west entrances.

Last week, the Mayor held a rally at the Statehouse to urge state legislators to use the final days of the legislative session to pass Indianapolis Works. Since then, volunteers have been holding a banner outside the Statehouse urging the legislators to act and reminding the public about the consequences of inaction.
