Mayor, ICVA to tour international firefighter convention, discuss need for expansion
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will join representatives of the Indianapolis Fire Department and the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association (ICVA) for a tour of the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC), an international convention of firefighters currently taking place in Indianapolis.
FDIC is one of Indianapolis and Indiana's largest annual conventions. It brings to Indiana about 25,000 delegates, who spend more than $34 million with Indiana businesses.
This year, in addition to filling the Indiana Convention Center & RCA Dome to capacity, FDIC had to resort to using an outdoor portion of Maryland St. for some of its exhibitors.
WHEN: Tomorrow - Friday, April 15
11-11:30 a.m.
WHERE: Meet outside RCA Dome, Gate 1
Reporters are invited along for the tour. The group also will be available to the media.

• Bob Bedell, president & CEO, ICVA
• Indianapolis Fire Chief Jim Greeson
• Mike Reeves, president, Firefighters Local 416.
