Info on economic development project, $2.25 billion economic benefit now on-line
Site details the plans for 40 years of NCAA basketball, 30-year lease with Colts & convention center expansion
INDIANAPOLIS - Information on the historic economic development project that will pump $2.25 billion into the economy, create more than 4,200 permanent jobs and 4,900 construction jobs over the next 10 years, and continue to make Indiana one of the world's top convention destinations, is now online.

The website includes:
• Information on the $2.25 billion economic impact of the project;
• A breakdown of the proposed funding package for the project, which does not raise property, sales or income taxes and does not ask for state money;
• The public process for approving the project; and
• The comprehensive studies demonstrating the economic need and benefit of the project.
Pending funding approval by the Indiana General Assembly and the Indianapolis-Marion County City-County Council, the project will include:
• Expansion of the Indiana Convention Center;
• A new multi-use venue - scheduled to open in the fall of 2008 with a retractable roof;
• A new home for the next four decades for NCAA Basketball's "March Madness;"
• An agreement to keep the National Football League (NFL) and the Indianapolis Colts in Indiana for 30 more years;
• A chance to bid for the NFL's Super Bowl;
• An extension of the annual NFL Scouting Combine, where the nation's top college football stars audition for NFL owners and coaches;
• Playing host to a future meeting of the NFL owners;
• Moving forward with a downtown IndyGo transit center, which will enhance public transportation throughout central Indiana.
