Mayor Peterson to welcome American artist Tom Otterness to Indianapolis

Mayor Bart Peterson, along with many of the city's arts and cultural leaders, will welcome world-renowned sculptor Tom Otterness to Indianapolis today. The artist will be considering sites for his upcoming public art exhibition, Tom Otterness in Indianapolis. This show will be a re-interpretation of Tom Otterness on Broadway, a public art exhibition currently gracing the malls of Broadway in New York City.

WHEN: Today, Friday, February 4, 2005
          4 - 6 p.m.
          (Mayor Peterson will arrive at approximately 5:45 p.m.)

WHERE: Indianapolis Artsgarden, above the intersection of Illinois and Washington streets

Tom Otterness in Indianapolis represents the largest public art exhibition to ever be hosted in Indianapolis. The exhibition of 17 sculptures will be on display in public spaces throughout downtown Indianapolis from April 15 through July 31, 2005.
