Mayor to release the results of the city’s largest aluminum can drive
Key Learning Community also recognized for its efforts
INDIANAPOLIS - Please join Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson tomorrow as he releases the results of the 2005 Cans for Cash: City Recycling Challenge, the city’s largest aluminum can drive.
The mayor also will recognize the efforts of the students at Key Learning Community, who collected more than 700 aluminum cans as part of the contest’s ‘Environmental Champion’ pilot program.

WHERE: Key Learning Community (IPS School 98) 77 South White River Parkway West Drive
Sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Mayors and Novelis Corporation, the Cans for Cash: City Recycling Challenge is a national contest that rewards cities for recycling aluminum beverage cans. The Challenge will award a total of $40,000 to participating municipalities for furthering recycling efforts. The 2005 contest began on September 1 and ended on September 16. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 15.
