Mayor to lunch with firefighters on the southside, discuss Indianapolis Works
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Bart Peterson will join about 25 southside township firefighters and representatives from the local firefighters union for lunch on the southside to discuss Indianapolis Works and thank them for their support.
WHEN: Tomorrow - Tuesday, February 1; Noon - 1 p.m.

If passed by the state legislature, Indianapolis Works will merge the eight township fire departments and the airport fire department into IFD and establish divisions based on the current townships.
Last week, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Professional Firefighters Local 416, the union that represents firefighters from the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) and all eight township fire departments overwhelmingly endorsed Indianapolis Works, by a margin of 86 percent to 14 percent.
