COUNTY OF MARION
STATE OF INDIANA
PETITION TO THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF INDIANA
REQUESTING DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Consolidated City of Indianapolis and Marion County have experienced severe storm weather, including heavy rain, tornadoes and high winds;
WHEREAS, the severe weather has caused injuries to residents and significant damage to property in the Consolidated City of Indianapolis and Marion County;
WHEREAS, as Mayor of the Consolidated City of Indianapolis and chief executive of Marion County, I have declared a State of Local Disaster Emergency in the Consolidated City of Indianapolis and Marion County;
WHEREAS, the City of Indianapolis and Marion County require State and/or Federal assistance to respond to the Local Disaster Emergency;
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Indianapolis, Indiana, and as successor-in-interest to the Board of Commissioners of Marion County, Indiana, I hereby request that the Governor of the State of Indiana, declare a State of Disaster Emergency in the Consolidated City of Indianapolis and Marion County, Indiana.
