Access and Inclusion Awards Celebration

Each July, in celebration of the anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Indianapolis Mayor's Advisory Council on Disability hosts an awards ceremony to recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to universal access and inclusion. Local organizations also participate on this day, and host information booths about local resources available to persons with disabilities and their families. In 2009, Indianapolis also celebrated the honor of being recognized by Nancy Starnes, Vice President of the National Organization on Disability, as the recipient of the 2009 Acessible America Award.
