At approximately 6:16 am on November 2, 2004, Maria Codina-Zuniga was shot as she exited her car at 442 N. LaSalle Street with a 9-month old infant in her arms. She died later at hospital. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'5" tall, 135 pounds, weaing a black hooded sweatshirt. The suspect ran south after the shooting.
