Jessie Thomas was shot multiple times while in a vacant lot at 768 W. 25th Street attending a cook-out on July 5, 2004, at approximately 1:01 am. The shooter is described as a black male, 6'2" to 6'4" with a slim build. He was bald and wore dark shorts. He ran south after the shooting.
