Community Organizations

Community Stakeholders

  • Community Groups and Neighborhood Associations. One of the Community Court's most important group of stakeholders is Indianapolis Community Groups and Neighborhood Associations. These groups relay important information to citizens, and they include South East Neighborhood Development (SEND)

  • Defendants

  • Victims. Although many of the crimes committed by Community Court defendants are considered "victimless crimes," the community and neighborhood often plays the victim. As a result, both individuals and the community are interested in the progress made by the Community Court.

  • Businesses and Business Organizations. Businesses have a strong interest in the Community Court's continued success: the safer the neighborhood, the better the business climate. 
     

Community Court Professionals and Staff Members

  • Court Commissioner. The Court Commissioner is the judge presiding over the Community Court. The Court Commissioner has a stake in ensuring that the Community Court meets its goals of rehabilitating defendants. Further, the Court Commissioner is committed to making the Court run as efficiently as possible. 

  • Court Coordinator. The Court Coordinator is responsible for communicating with the public and with the Court's sources of funding. One of the Court Coordinator's highest priorities is to educate the public about the Court's mission and progress. 

  • Resource Coordinator. The Resource Coordinator meets with all defendants and monitors each defendant's progress performing community service or treatment programs. The Resource Coordinator is concerned with the overall efficiency of the Court and its effectiveness in rehabilitating defendants.


Court Management Personnel

  • Court Administrator's Office. The Court Administrator's Office administers all of Marion County Superior Court. The Court Administrator's Office is concerned with the efficient operation of the Community Court. 

  • Financial Officer. The Financial Officer's stake is similar to that of the Court Administrator's Office, but the Financial Officer is concerned primarily with the fiscal efficiency of the court.

Current and Prospective Grantors. Grantors donate funds that help support the Community Court. Grantors' stake in the Court process is to ensure that the Court serves the community and meets its goals.
