Marion County Law Library
The Law Library, housing 14,000 volumes, is on the third floor of the City County building and is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is open to the public and has computer access to additional legal materials. The library assists the Judges, other City-County agencies and the general public in locating legal information.
The library's collection includes:
- Legal decisions from all state and federal courts.
- Federal law: U.S. Code, federal rules and practice, federal forms, jury instructions and indexes to the federal cases
- Indiana law: Indiana Code, administrative code, jury instructions, local ordinances, continuing education materials, Indiana rules of court and books of forms.
- Reference materials: legal encyclopedias, statutes from surrounding Shepard's citations, law reviews and journals.
- Specialized collections: family law, criminal law and procedure, probate matters, insurance, products liability, contracts, corporations, and some bankruptcy materials.

The Library is located in downtown Indianapolis, 2 ½ blocks from the City Circle on the 3rd Floor of the City-County Building.

Please note that all visitors entering the City/County Building will have to pass through metal detectors.
