Harrison Monument #205 Installation Specifications

 

The installation of all HARRISON monuments at section corners will be supervised by the Marion County Surveyor's Office (MCSO). MCSO requires four (4) working days notification prior to the installation of HARRISON monuments. Section corner locations are to be located, marked, and straddled by MCSO prior to excavation.

HARRISON IN CONCRETE PAVEMENT: 

A HARRISON monument installed in concrete pavement shall have a 24 inch maximum diameter and an 8 inch minimum diameter core to a depth of 21 inches, backfilled to surface with concrete or non-shrink grout, and positioned by the MCSO straddles.

HARRISON IN ASPHALT PAVEMENT:

A HARRISON monument installed in asphalt pavement shall be installed after the finish surface is put down, have a 24-inch by 24-inch square excavated to a depth of 21 inches, backfilled to the finished surface with dressed and broom finished concrete, and positioned by the MCSO straddles.

HARRISON IN EARTH:

A HARRISON monument installed in earth shall have a 24-inch by 24-inch square excavated to a depth of 21 inches, backfilled to surface with concrete, and positioned by the MCSO straddles.

NONTYPICAL LOCATION:

At any non-typical location, such as an obstruction of depth and location or different surface material, shall be set as per the MCSO specifications decided after an on site inspection. MCSO reserves the right of change the backfill material, the monument type, and the excavation size.
