Paralegal Unit
To contact the paralegal assigned to your court, click here: Paralegals by Court
The Paralegal Unit is responsible for supporting Public Defender Attorneys in every Marion County Criminal Court .
Each Court is assigned one paralegal who supports from 2-6 Public Defender attorneys. Each paralegal assigns case files to each attorney in the court based on a pre-deterimined rotation. The Court paralegal spends the majority of his/her time in court. He/she will assist the attorney during trials and every aspect of case preparation.
The Court paralegal is often the first contact a client will have with the Marion County Public Defender Agency. The volume of cases in these courts makes it difficult to meet with every client before his/her first court date.
If a client has an urgent matter before his court date and cannot reach his public defender immediately, he should leave a message via voice mail or with the paralegal assigned to his court. This is often the best means of getting in touch with your PD. To find the public defenders or paralegals assigned to a specific court, choose Attorneys by Court or Paralegals by Court.
Our attorneys and paralegals work diligently to insure each and every client receive the quality representation this office strives to provide. If a concern arrises regarding a member of this division, please direct those concerns to the immediate supervisors listed at the top.
