Parents that Work is a program created to assist non-custodial parents delinquent in child support payment with finding and maintaining employment. Stable employment enables parents to pay child support, an immediate benefit to the family, as well as begin to pay down and reduce any accrued arrearage. Through this program, the Prosecutor's Office takes an active role in working to help sincere and motivated parents find employment to the benefit of their children.
Parents that Work is a component of the Child Support Division within the Marion County Prosecutor's Office. Job seeking preparation skills, mentoring, and assistance with job leads and placement are made available through partnerships with community organizations offering these services. Participants in the program include volunteers or those ordered to participate by a judge.
Those interested in the program should attend an orientation program held each Monday from 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. in the main office located at 251 E. Ohio St., first floor. Registration is not required. Upon completion of the orientation, parents may be offered an intake evaluation to determine possible next steps.
