The Marion County Jail is located at 40 South Alabama Street in Downtown Indianapolis just southwest of the intersection of Washington Street (U.S.40) and Alabama Street. It is just south of the City-County Building and northeast of the new Conseco Fieldhouse. Be advised that all the streets surrounding the jail (Washington, Maryland, Alabama and Delaware) are one-way.

There is metered parking just north of the Jail on Washington street and also to the west on Delaware. Remember that these meters are good for a maximum of two hours. Virtually everywhere else street parking is prohibited or restricted to MCSD or IPD personnel. DO NOT PARK ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE JAIL in the alcove at the main entrance! Even if you're inside for just five minutes someone will put a ticket on your vehicle.

In addition to the meters there is a pay parking lot just east of the jail with an entrance off Alabama Street. There is a large covered parking garage just south of the jail as well as a pay lot just east of the parking garage (up the ramp). There is another pay lot on the northeast corner of Alabama and Washington.

The main entrance to the jail is located on the east (Alabama Street) side of the jail. Enter through the revolving doors and stop at the security desk and the personnel there will direct you to your destination.
