Jail Clothing

Inmates are allowed to have clothing exchanged at the time of a visit, unless restricted to do so.

Inmates are not allowed to wear street clothing, sweat pants, or gym shorts. Inmates may not have any clothing with stripes, buttons, zippers, snaps, hoods, draw-strings, pockets, lettering, or designs on them.

Clothing does not have to be new, but must be in good condition, clean and dry. Clothing brought for a visit must be in a bag or sack which has the inmate's name and housing cell block number written on it. The clothing itself should have the inmate's name written on it with a laundry marker.

At the time of the inmate's first visit after being incarcerated, the Visitation office will allow clothing to be brought in without an exchange. After the first visit, no clothes will be accepted for the inmate, unless the inmate brings clothes out of the cell block for clothing exchange.

All clothing must be plain white in color. The only exceptions are that plain white or gray sweatshirts or plain white or cream color long underwear will be accepted.

Inmates are allowed one (1) pair of shoes per year. Soft type shoes may be brought in to the inmate, but must be exchanged for the shoes the inmate already has. An inmate may not exchange shower shoes or thongs for a pair of shoes. Replacement shoe exchanges are generally done for shoes that are worn-out or that are in disrepair only. No shoes with metal arch supports are allowed. All shoes will have the innersole removed to be inspected. Shoes brought for exchange need not be new, but must be clean, dry, odor-free, and in good repair.

Visitors may bring only those clothes that meet the standards and that are of the type and quantity of that which is listed below:

Male clothing: 2 Pairs of Socks 2 Plain White T-shirts (crew neck only) 2 Pairs of Under Shorts (briefs or boxers) 1 Set of Thermal Underwear (white or cream color) 1 Sweat Shirt (crew neck only - white or gray color).
