George Snider was the Sheriff of Marion County from 1921 to 1924. This is a image of his badge while he was in office as Sheriff.
Two of our three departmental vehicles in the late 1930's. These 1934 or 1935 Buicks are armored and equipped with bullet-proof glass with gun ports in the windshields. Note the Thompson .45 caliber machineguns with drum magazines.
December 18,1976- the first three female Marion County Deputies assigned to Road Patrol. Left to right, Major Joe Ernst, Colonel Billy G. Romeril, Deputies Kay Kelso, Amanda Begley, Bonnie Goff and Sheriff Lawrence F. Broderick.
