Community Corrections Center
This Center houses low risk, non-violent offenders. This program is designed to help relieve overcrowding at the Marion County Jail. Screening for participation in this program is done by the Marion County Sheriff's Department and Marion County Community Corrections. Also housed at this facility are those male participants in the Corrections Center Component program described earlier.
Offenders placed in this program are considered jail inmates and have all the rights and privileges afforded to them as jail inmates. Offenders will have the opportunity to participate in substance abuse treatment, GED/ABE classes, cognitive skills training, as well as individual counseling. There is no community release associated with this program. Offenders prepare for their return to the community through treatment and educational opportunities.
Screening Criteria and Referral Procedures:
A request for screening may be made by forwarding written request for screening (a letter or a completed Referral Information Form) to the Screening Analyst at least two (2) weeks prior to your client's next scheduled Court date. In addition to the letter/referral form, copies of any/all of the following are requested:
- Pre-sentence Investigation (if available);
- The Charging Information;
- Probable Cause Affidavit;
- A Criminal History;
- Driving Record;
- Any psychological evaluations, psychiatric evaluations, and/or counseling reports;
- Any additional information deemed important by the referral source;
