Craine House
The Work Release Component offers a residential/work release program for both male and female offenders. Riverside Community Corrections, located at 1415 N. Pennsylvania, currently provides a total of 124 beds for male offenders split between general population, Community Transition Program and the Mental Health Component (including 4 stabilization beds). Also provided through a contract is a female residential facility which allows women with pre-school aged children the opportunity to serve their sentence in the community while living with their children (John P. Craine House, Inc., located at 3535 North Pennsylvania Street) and an additional female residential facility (Theodora House, located at 927 N. Pennsylvania St.) which is operated by Volunteers of America.
All offenders under Community Correction supervision have a variety of programming available to them. Community Corrections utilizes the LSI-R, or the “Level of Service Inventory- Revised” to assess the risk of reoffending and services needed for all clients under Community Corrections supervision. Based on overall risk score and identified criminogenic needs, clients may be placed into the following evidence based programs presented by trained facilitators: Parenting, Anger Management, Thinking For a Change, Substance Abuse Treatment, as well as Job Readiness workshops and GED/ABE.
